Wonders from the Word – Clean and Unclean

December 21st, 2008 by phall

In reading about sacrifices, I had a thought that might have a spiritual application for us today.  We know that in the O.T. there were both clean and unclean animals.  Clean animals could be sacrificed and eaten by man, both result in death.  Unclean could not be sacrificed nor eaten.  They were left alone.  Only certain clean animals could be offered in sacrifice.  The unclean were largely left untouched by man or God. The application is, which is better, to be holy to God even to the point of death, or to be unholy to God and separated from Him and His people?  Which is better, to serve or to be alone? If we choose holiness, we are choosing a life dedicated to dying so that others might live.
